Commonwealth Document Management (CDM) partnered with the Danville Police and Sheriff’s Departments to shred documents for our hometown citizens in conjunction with the National Night Out Event.

The National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, introduced in 1984, began as an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.  The National Night Out program culminates annually, on the first Tuesday in August.

CDM had one mobile truck at the kick-off location (Target) and shred confidential documents throughout the evening.  Our second truck moved around to the various neighborhood watch events throughout the evening and shred documents at each location.

This marks our 3rd year of participation.  It provides us with a great opportunity to educate citizens on the risk of identity theft as it relates to the proper destruction of confidential information and provides them with an opportunity to have these documents shred at NO CHARGE!
