Commonwealth Document Management (CDM) partnered with the Danville Police and Sheriff’s departments to shred documents for our hometown citizens in conjunction with National Night Out.

The National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, introduced in 1984, began as an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and sent a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.  The National Night Out program culminates annually, on the first Tuesday in August.

CDM had a mobile shredding truck at the kick-off location which was held at the Westmoreland Neighborhood Association, randomly chosen to host the kick-off event.  Police officers cooked hot dogs and provided chips, drinks and desserts for residents in the community.

CDM shred confidential documents at the Westmoreland location and other neighborhood watch events throughout the evening.

This marks our 4th year of participation.  It provides us with a great opportunity to educate citizens on the risk of Identity Theft as it relates to the proper destruction of confidential information and provides them with an opportunity to have these documents shred at NO CHARGE.
